This is arguably the best-known gun of the Second World War, loved by its operators and feared by its enemies. In this first volume on the subject, we begin by describing the towed and stationary guns during their period of service, from the 1930s right through to the end of the Second World War in May 1945. Spanning a 304 pages, with 315 contemporary photographs and 170 images of the guns in various museums, as well as 129 drawings – both in black and white and in colour – by Laurent Lecocq, this well-known gun is presented in detail.
