Product information "Volume 38: Jagdpanzer IV, Part 2 - L/70 (Sd.Kfz.162/1) (Vomag & Alkett)"

Authors: Joachim Baschin, Martin Block
As already announced, we continue the history of the Panzerjäger IV in Part 2 and describe the two versions developed by VOMAG and ALKETT, which were equipped with the 7.5 cm Pak 42 L/70, an anti-tank gun developed from the Panther's famous cannon. Considering that production of the series vehicles of both versions only began in August 1944, it is astonishing that 970 VOMAG and 277 ALKETT vehicles with this armament were still produced by the end of the war. However, these tanks were no longer able to influence the course of the war.
